About Us

Forgotten Felines Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southeast Louisiana.

Since 2016, our mission has been simple: to help animals go

from forgotten to forever.

Our story began in 2014 as the SLU Campus Cat Coalition when four college girls stepped in to rescue a mama cat and her kittens on campus. That one act of compassion sparked something much bigger. In 2016, we officially became Forgotten Felines Rescue, expanding beyond campus and deepening our commitment to the community we serve.

Today, FFR is proudly a dedicated two-woman operation, supported by an incredible network of fosters, adopters, and community supporters. Every intake, every late-night rescue, every adoption day reflects the heart and determination behind what we do.

We believe in three simple but powerful words:

Rescue. Foster. Adopt.

While we began as a 100% foster-based rescue, we are excited to be growing into our very own space. This dedicated location will help us take in cats more efficiently and give the community a place to meet our adoptable pets in person. Our foster homes remain at the core of our mission, but this new chapter allows us to expand our reach and save even more lives.

Through routine wellness checks, safe and loving placements, and thoughtful matchmaking, we ensure each animal is prepared for a successful future. We are also deeply committed to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), which involves humanely caring for community cats through spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, health testing, and dedicated colony caretakers.

At Forgotten Felines Rescue, every life matters. Our promise is simple: compassion, responsibility, and the unwavering belief that every animal deserves the chance to go from forgotten to forever.

We’re so glad you’re here.
